Global Director of Compensation and Equity


Top NYC professional services  firm is looking for a Global Director of Compensation and Equity to report to the Chief People Officer and be part of the People Leadership team. This individual will serve as a strategic and trusted partner to the business with responsibility for aligning business strategy with a Rewards focused strategy that drives the attraction and retention of talent. The Director will design and implement a firm wide Total Rewards strategy that supports the company’s growth objectives and attracts and retains a highly diverse and skilled workforce.  The Director will lead the annual compensation process, in partnership with Finance and key business leaders, including merit, bonus and equity programs; leverage external market data to make informed decisions and recommendations for enhancements in philosophy and process. This person will also evaluate the effectiveness of existing compensation and benefit programs/policies and bring forward innovative ideas and solutions on how to enhance and leverage Rewards as a key lever in the employee experience. Provide consultation/leadership to members of the HR & Talent team on market practice to address current/new comp and benefit trends and issues. Partner with Talent Management to develop trainings and communications, establish process for reviewing equity pay, and work with business leaders and HR to establish structure and maintenance of job architecture. Benchmark best practices and provide recommendations for other forms of non-cash rewards and oversee the annual review of benefits to ensure competitive plan design along with evaluating new programs, cost strategies and platform for continuous education, health and wellness programs.


The candidate must have a completed BA/BS degree and a minimum of 7-10 years of hands on experience and extensive knowledge of compensation, benefits and equity programs in both US and India markets. Experience working in Professional Services, Legal, Consulting, Finance preferred. Exposure across a full spectrum of comp related issues including global architecture, program design and oversight for all components of compensation. Excellent interpersonal and consulting skills, ability to build strong relationships with leaders to recommend solutions that solve problems and strong project management and planning skills – with the ability to lead, plan, organize and resource complex assignments.
