Director of Talent Management – Recently Filled

Salary: $160-180K
Plus: Bonus
Locations: NYC - Midtown


Large International bank is looking for a Director of Talent Management for all their US Operations. Manage a team of 5 in the U.S. who cover Learning and Development as well as Talent Management. Design, develop and ownership of the OD and talent management areas. Align strategies and policies to HR and business objectives, leveraging HR Business Partners to understand business priorities and opportunities. Design tools, templates, and other supporting materials to create consistency of quality and practice for training programs. Educate and support HR Business Partners on the appropriate way to execute and leverage these materials with assigned business units. Lead all aspects of the Managing Director and Director promotion process from strategy and process to training panelists, communications to candidates, scheduling and facilitation of debrief sessions with the panels. Work with wider HR, including HRBPs, to understand skill gap analysis for workforce planning, forecasting future needs and adapting strategy and / or tactics accordingly. Collaborate with Global HR team on best practices and global programs. Partner with the HR Operations team to design and develop functional reports and metrics. Review and analyze information to drive performance, identify trends, and develop/implement functional improvements, escalating issues and proposed solutions as appropriate. Negotiate with vendors and contractors. Develop and manage departmental budget.


Completed BA/BS degree required. 10+ years of experience in Talent and Development with at least 5 years of experience managing a team. 5+ years in design and delivery of talent and learning programs is required. Ability to work independently while still coordinating and interacting with senior management. Excellent project management skills, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. Strong communication skills, ability to the ability to work well with others. Ability to lead change while managing competing priorities. Must have a strong external network with an ability to bring best practice and innovation from the market.
